DESCRIPTION:Foursomes Championship Event – 2 players in a team alternate turns playing the same ball. One team member tees off on the even holes and the other tees odd on the odd holes. A team’s Net score will be calculated by deducting half of the total aggregate handicap of the team from the gross score. \nVisitors are welcome (they can win the day but not the trophy which is a closed event). There is also a Single Stableford comp. \nMen’s Foursomes Championships 2019\nCONDITIONS OF PLAY – ENTRANCE FEE $20 PER PLAYER \n\nFoursomes: Two players play as partners and use one ball. The players strike off alternately from the tee and thereafter strike the ball alternately during the play of each hole. If either player incurs a penalty stroke it does not alter the rotation of play.\nThe competition will be played according to the ‘Rules of Golf’ and competitors must be members of Leura Golf Club and hold an AGU handicap. Members are reminded that this is a club championship event and members’ attention is directed to By-Law 7  – see below. For the purposes of these Conditions of Play “Club Championships” where used in the by-law shall mean “Men’s Foursome Championships”.\nThe competition will consist of two rounds of 18 holes foursomes stroke play from the blue tees on Saturdays 22 and 29 June 2019. Preferred lies in accordance with the Local Rules will apply.  The 12th hole C graders Local Rule will not apply.\nFor Round 2 the order of play will be reversed from that of Round 1.\nRound 2 tee times shall commence at 8.28 am\, the B graders to hit off first followed by the A graders. Pair groups shall be decided by the Match Committee and if there shall be an odd number of pairs an A grade pair may be grouped with a B grade pair.\nThe handicap of each pair will be one half of their combined daily handicaps applicable at the commencement of Round 1.\nThe competition will be played in two grades\, namely\n\n\n\nA grade – pair handicaps of 16 or less\nB grade – pair handicaps of more than 16\, 36 being the maximum handicap.\n\n\n\n\nThe championship winners in each grade will be the pair who returns the best aggregate scratch score over the two rounds. DESCRIPTION:MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS – 2019\nCONDITIONS OF PLAY – RULES OF GOLF APPLY.\n18 HOLE COMPETITION – $20 PER PLAYER. \n\nBoth partners must be members of Leura Golf Club. This is a championship event so By-law 7 applies – see below. For the purposes of these Conditions of Play “Club Championships” where used in the by-law shall mean “Mixed Foursomes Championships”.\nIt will be decided closer to\, or on the day\, whether the ball will be played as it lies or whether preferred lies will apply.\nAggregate handicap of partners is halved i.e. (10 + 26)/2 = 18 handicap.\nMen tee off on all odd numbered holes i.e. 1st\, 3rd etc.\nWomen tee off on all even numbered holes i.e. 2nd 4th etc.\nAfter teeing off the shot is then alternated between partners until the ball is in the hole.\nMen play off blue markers – Women from red.\nIf an air shot occurs then partner must play next shot.\nAbnormal Course Conditions – relief is allowed in accordance with Rule 16.\nStaked Trees – see No Play Zones Local Rule.\nIf your partner hits a ball out of bounds then the alternate player must hit another from the same spot adding a one shot penalty.\nNo relief from tyre tracks – it is not a local rule.\n\nNote – this is a stroke event (alternating shots by partners) – trophies for scratch winner and runner-up\, also trophies for net winner and runner-up. \nMatch Committee – June 2019 \nBy-Law 7 – Club Championship Eligibility:\nTo be eligible to play in the Club Championships\, a member shall have completed at least 2 monthly medal rounds or at least 5 competition rounds at Leura Golf Club in the 12 months immediately preceding the Club Championships.

In addition members’ attention is drawn to By-Law 7 (see below) regarding eligibility.\nThe competition will consist of three rounds of 18 holes stroke play from the blue tees on Saturdays\, 16\, 23 and 30 March 2019. The ball will be played as it lies. There will be no preferred lies. Earliest tee time shall be 7.00 am\, the latest 12.30 pm. For Round 3 all players still participating in the championships will play in groups of three commencing at 8.30 am\, first the C graders\, then B graders\, then A graders. Groups will be decided by the Match Committee.\nAll three rounds will be played off Daily Handicaps applicable at the commencement of Round 1.\nThe competition will be played in three grades\, namely:\n\nA grade – Daily Handicap of 12 or less\nB grade – higher than 12 to less than 20\nC grade – 20 to 36\n\n\nThe championship winner in each grade will be the competitor who returns the best aggregate scratch score over the three rounds. There will also be a net winner in each grade. In conjunction there will be a Seniors’ championship (aged 60 or over at commencement of competition) which will be a scratch event only. DESCRIPTION:Foursomes Championship Event – 2 players in a team alternate turns playing the same ball. One team member tees off on the even holes and the other tees odd on the odd holes. There is also a Single Stableford comp. \nMen’s Foursomes Championships 23.06.18\nCONDITIONS OF PLAY – ENTRANCE FEE $15 \n\nThe competition will be played according to the ‘Rules of Golf’ and competitors must be members of Leura Golf Club and hold an AGU handicap. Members are reminded that this is a club championship event and members’ attention is directed to By-Law 7 – see below. For the purposes of these Conditions of Play “Club Championships” where used in the by-law shall mean “Men’s Foursome Championships”.\nThe competition will consist of 29 holes foursomes stroke play from the blue tees on Saturday\, 23 June 2018. The ball will be played as it lies. There will be no preferred lies. Tee times shall be 7.32 am to 8.04 am. If extra tee times become necessary they will follow at 8 minute intervals from 8.04 am.\nThe 29 holes will be holes 1 to 18\, there will then be a break for refreshments\, followed by holes 1 to 11 for which the order of play from the tees will be changed. Refreshments will be available to be purchased in the clubhouse.\nThe handicap of each pair will be one half of their combined handicaps multiplied by 29 divided by 18 rounded to the nearest one decimal point.\nThe competition will be played in two grades\, namely\n\nA grade 16 or less\nB grade 17 – 36\n\n\nThe championship winners in each grade will be the pair who returns the best aggregate scratch score over the 29 holes. DESCRIPTION:MIXED FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS – 2018\nCONDITIONS OF PLAY – RULES OF GOLF APPLY.\n18 HOLE COMPETITION – $15 PER PLAYER. \n\nBoth partners must be members of Leura Golf Club. This is a championship event so By-law 7 applies – see below. For the purposes of these Conditions of Play “Club Championships” where used in the by-law shall mean “Mixed Foursomes Championships”.\nIt will be decided closer to\, or on the day\, whether the ball will be played as it lies or whether preferred lies\, either on the fairway or through the green\, will apply.\nAggregate handicap of partners is halved i.e. (10 + 26)/2 = 18 handicap.\nMen tee off on all odd numbered holes i.e. 1st\, 3rd etc.\nWomen tee off on all even numbered holes i.e. 2nd 4th etc.\nAfter teeing off the shot is then alternated between partners until the ball is in the hole.\nMen play off blue markers – Women from red.\nIf an air shot occurs then partner must play next shot.\nG.U.R. – the player may lift the ball and drop it\, without penalty\, within ‘one club length of\, and not nearer the hole\, than the ‘nearest point of relief’. (rule 25-1b (i).)\nStaked Trees – a local rule is in place and as such\, it is mandatory that relief be taken from staked trees. Failure to do so incurs a 2 stroke penalty. Relief having been taken it is imperative that the player or the player’s club does not touch any part of the tree.
