SUMMARY:Friday Nine Medley
DESCRIPTION:Social Members and beginners are welcome and will be allocated a handicap of 36 for men and 45 for women. This provides an opportunity for non-golfers to learn and experience our beloved game and hopefully get hooked on it like the rest of we golf tragics. \nWe encourage players to stay on for a drink\, presentation of prizes and dinner in the Bistro after your game. \nConditions of Play\n\nTee off from 10:00am\, playing from white markers for men and red markers for women.\nFee is $10 per player.\nCompetition will be played over 9 holes alternating week about.\n\nFront 9 – 1st to 9th\nBack 9 – 1st then 11th to 18th.\n\n\nCompetition will be conducted using the Stroke scoring system.\nA mercy rule will apply – once a player has had three shots over par on any hole\, pick up your ball and record the score for that hole as three over. Move on to the next hole.\nHandicaps for both 9’s will be half your current daily GA handicap.\nOfficial rules of golf apply.\nAll prizes are added to members’ cards\, visitors will be given vouchers.

SUMMARY:Leura Open
DESCRIPTION:2023 Leura Open\nConditions of Play\n\nCOMPETITION: This is an 18 hole stroke competition to be played according to the Rules of Golf. Competitors must hold a current Golf Link handicap.\nTHE BALL will be played as stipulated on the signboard adjacent to the first tee. If on the day Preferred Lies Fairways only applies and a player is unsure whether the ball is on the fairway\, the player should seek advice from marker before preferring the ball.\nHANDICAPS (means Daily Handicaps): Men – up to 36 (Division A 18 or less\, Division B 19 to 36)\, Women – up to 45. Current Golf Link cards must be presented to Pro Shop prior to commencement of the round.\nSTARING TIMES: Players must report to the Pro Shop at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled tee times.\nTEES: Men – Blue tees\, Women – Red tees.\nLOCAL RULES: Players should acquaint themselves with local rules as amended for this event before beginning their round.\nPACE OF PLAY: Course Marshalls will be on the course – please keep up with the group in front. Slow play will be penalised in accordance with Rule 5.6a.\nSTAKED TREES: A local rule is in place (see No Play Zones) and as such it is mandatory to take relief from staked trees. Failure to do so incurs a 2 stroke penalty. Relief must be taken such that the player does not touch any part of the tree\, even a single leaf\, with body or club when taking stance or during the stroke\, to do so incurs a 2 stroke penalty.\nSCORE CARDS: Competitors must ensure their correct Golf Link handicap is shown\, correct score is recorded for each hole and the card is signed by both player and marker.\nTIE: In the event of a tie a countback will take place as applied by Golf Link.\nINCLEMENT WEATHER: If in the opinion of the Match committee in conjunction with the Greenkeeper the course should be closed due to inclement weather the event shall not be played and shall be re-scheduled.\nPROTESTS: Should be lodged in writing with Match Committee immediately after completion of round. All disputes will be decided by the Match Committee. Decisions will be final.\nTROPHIES: One trophy per person other than NTPs or Longest Drives.\n\nLocal Rules \nREFERENCE – RULES OF GOLF – 2019\nThe LGC Local Rules apply to the Leura Open except as noted\, expanded and/or clarified below. \nIMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS – Rule 16\nIncludes the artificial surfaces and sides of roads and paths including gravel paths. \nSTONE BRIDGE ON 4TH HOLE\nFree relief\, at the nearest point of relief and no nearer the hole\, if the lie of the ball or the player’s stance or swing is affected by the Stone Bridge on the 4th Hole. There is NO line of play/sight relief for the stone Bridge. \nSTONES – see back of Scorecard. \nCAUSEWAY ACROSS 4TH\, 5TH 6TH HOLES\nFree relief\, at the nearest point of relief and no nearer the hole if the lie of the ball or the player’s stance or swing is affected by the gravel filling the cause-way across the 4th\, 5th or 6th hole. \nIMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREEN  \nSPRINKLER HEADS\nRelief may be taken under Rule 16.1b if a sprinkler head or other immovable obstruction is on the line of play and is within two club lengths of the putting green\, and within two club lengths of the ball provided that there will be no relief if the line of play is clearly unreasonable. \n12TH HOLE\nThe 12th hole local rule which is applicable to C graders only in normal competitions shall NOT apply for this event. \nDROP ZONE 6TH GREEN\nThere is a clearly defined drop zone alongside\, and for play to\, the 6th green (left hand side) for relief from the nearby designated hedge area. \nSLOW PLAY – Rule 5.6a \nSlow play penalties will be imposed. \nGeneral penalty for breach of Local Rules – 2 strokes. \nMatch Committee – Leura Golf Club
